Marcasite Vintage Brooch With Pearl

Marcasite has been popular in the production of jewellery since Egyptian times with many revivals over the years particularly during Victorian times and in the middle of the last century. It has a look that is timeless and versatile enough to be worn with any outfit. With a silver base unmarked but tested there is a free form leaves shape with a central flower head with small pearl bead. Measurement is 6cms x 3.5cms. There is a firm roll over clasp to the back. Very good condition possibly 1960's period, from an estate sale UK.  Lots of twinkling shine in the light although difficult to catch in the photograph. Very pretty, gift boxed by Vintageonline.
